used in synthetic organic intermediate and preparation of sulfur dye additives .

In textile industry as a bleaching, as a desulfurizing and as a dechlorinating agent
used in pulp and paper industry.

Used in water treatment as an oxygen scavenger agent.
Used in mining industry as inhibitor , curing agent , removing agent

OTHER USED
♦ In the photographic industry to protect developer solutions from oxidation.
♦ It is used in the production of rubber chemicals and other chemical compounds.
♦ It is use in other applications include ore flotation, oil recovery, food preservative, making dyes, and detergent.
The specific applications of sodium sulfide in the printing and dyeing industry are as follows:
Production of sulphur dyes: Sodium sulfide is the key raw material for the manufacture of sulphur cyan, sulphur blue and other dyes. These dyes are brightly coloured, low in cost, have a good affinity for cotton fabrics and are often used in the printing and dyeing of cotton textiles.
Dyeing aid: In the dyeing process, sodium sulfide acts as a dyeing aid, which can effectively dissolve sulphur dyes, promote the penetration of dyes into the fiber, improve the uniformity and depth of dyeing, and make the color of the fabric fuller and brighter.
Dye reduction: Sodium sulfide can reduce the color matrix (chromophore) of the dye to a color base. The color base dissolves in water and adsorbs onto the fiber. During the dyeing process, it is oxidized and restored to its original color, thereby achieving fiber coloring.
Heat resistance and light resistance: Sodium sulfide printing and dyeing agent has excellent heat resistance and light resistance, which can ensure that the printed and dyed textiles remain stable in high temperature and strong light environment and are not easy to fade, so that the fabrics can maintain bright colors for a long time during use and washing.
Protecting fibers: During the dyeing process, sodium sulfide helps protect fibers from damage by chemicals and prevents fiber strength from decreasing, thus ensuring the quality of the fabric after dyeing and printing
